Hawaii speaks to Me

Do we live borrowed lives? If you believe so, how have you taken your life back? (This summer, '09, this question was answered)

"You have two ways to live your life. From memory or from inspiration. Memories are old programs replaying. Inspiration is the Divine giving you a message. You want to come from inspiration. The only way to hear the Divine and receive inspiration is to clean all memories. The only thing you have to do is clean."
Dr. Hew Len, from the book Zero Limits, co-author Joe Vitale.

A new Dawn

Congratulations on our President Elect Barack Obama! The walls are crumbling and bridges take their place. Our President represents the will to put everything on the table for a clear look. This historic day marks our time as a compilation of our effort, hope, and dreams. Most importantly we have entered an era of deep forgiveness. Of course not a process that started overnight, but a silent revolution that began with the belief in forming this nation, The United States. The freedom to be according to our Heart's knowing.

"We hold these truths to be self evident. That all men are created equal." The Declaration of Independence.

Namaste,

Thank you Mr. Wolfe

from my blog entry on WoYoPracMo: yoga community

The morning was beautiful. I decided this would be "the best day ever". Although people were in the gym of my apartment complex I laid my mat down for a 45 minutes practice. If I could be silent just for one second I knew it would feel like eternity. Folks didn't care. I overheard a girl ask her personal trainer if he could teach her yoga. He smiled, she smiled and the day started in bringing harmony, sharing, peace and flow to others. My smile continued all day.

For more on the concept of "The Best Day Ever", google David Wolfe, author and speaker on Raw Food Nutrition. I'm currently reading his book, Amazing Grace. The authors explain why using those words are important and I think the explanation is hilariously fun.

When believing these words "best ever" the mind cannot quite wrap itself around a continuing series of such. Your mind cannot figure out a way how it could get better. "An assumption is built into the language that automatically turns the result over to the Creator to deliver in miraculous fashion." This is funny to me because I imagine a breakdown in the matrix (the mind) and the power is handed over to all the genies, fairies, gnomes, and superheros as if saying "here man, you take it. Let's see what you can pull out of that hat." Then a wild play of synchronicity ensues. My guru, Paramahansa Yogananda, often said that in yoga one experiences ever new bliss. Isn't it wonderful to know we have powerful tools to tweak the fabric of life. Hope you have a yoga moment and the best day ever.

Ha! Cosmic Giggle

Ha! Sometimes I peer to deeply into the future. From that night of hinting towards dating exclusively I knew his words where like weak rooted seeds. One reasons why you haven't heard anything about it since the 1st. There couldn't possibly be anything in between. Not without effort from moi.

I really did enjoy myself with him. I laughed and remained opened to beauty and love. I was nurtured that night, but learned not to be attached. I can see through him and still found him adorable beneath his wounds (whatever they may be).

Guess he didn't notice the music selection I made him early on when dating. The lyrics of the first song expressed our bittersweet romantic end. You should hear the rest of the album. I had a stack of mantras as theme music. I was ready long before today.

Of course I feel pain my heart, but I choose the path of a warrior and it's a path of complete vulnerability. Everyday I breathe Om into the pain and then I own it. It's mine and I embrace it!

Ironically I was called to an old eatery stomping ground a few hours before meeting him for the break up news. Shortly before finishing my meal this young man come out to sit on the patio. He gave me an incredible smile and I smiled back. Before taking a bite he started conversation. He said how it was nice to be outside for awhile. A remark open for my curious reply. Going back and forth across the patio with inquisitive questioning, he made a move to a table closer to mine. At times peering over the rim of his glasses I noticed the intensity of his eyes. I could tell something about me made him uneasy. As soon as he spoke I knew he hadn't been living in Vegas long. I was right, two months. He's looking to meet people. Yep, offered his number before I was ready to leave. Will I call? Let's say life this year has been one hell of a cosmic play. Exit, stage left, until the next scene.

Namaste ya'll!

Awe!

Glad August is gone. What a blur. Time for a day of fasting tomorrow. I made plans for the rest of the year. Let's just say a certain person captivated my attention and wobbled me unbalanced last month. But I like it!

Peace be yours,

Nicol

Want to be a Yogi or Just Look like one?

You haven't missed much in blogging from me: Here's a recent entry on WoYoPracMo.

I practiced asana consistently up until day 19 and decided to take a break the last 4 days while on the road. Truth is I forgot my yoga paws at home, therefore, concentrated on spiritual books and contemplation.

Did I share with you the birth of my nephew last week? I often meditated and prayed for him while in the womb. While meditating I could relate to the experience of becoming a baby again. I enjoy the path of Kriya Yoga and appreciate the simplicity of Yogananda's teachings, but if you want to go deeper in your understanding you certainly can through a wealth of information from Guruji's commentaries. Interestingly enough my experience with yoga has resulted in what yoga is intended to accomplish. UNION with Spirit. Guruji often referred to the path as a science. Indeed if anyone puts yoga to the test they will discover the same conclusion. This stuff works.

The magic continues after leaving the mat. Since the 20th people have been giving me money, asking me out to dinner and sharing their deep secrets with me. Again someone approached me at Whole Foods today. He said he was drawn to my smile. He used words like intuition and good aura when addressing why he felt compelled to speak to me. All I can do is giggle. Remember the Barbazon modeling school ads? Well I've developed nicely toned chatarunga arms, but I don't want to just look like a yogi. This day, this week and this year has shown me from the increased magnetism I'm enjoying that I am a Yogi. Living in Union with Spirit I'm become a vehicle of Light. The joy, beauty, or peace one might behold in me is only a reflection of themselves. I have to remember to share this with someone the next time I'm approached with a compliment.

Well, it's funny that I would have this experience. I often feel the judgment and competition during classes. As if people feel sorry for me that my hips are not open. All in due time. Things happen to me when unexpected. Right now I'm still looking for great physical changes. But if magnetism is increased just from my level of capability right now....hmmmmm?

superDuperConscious

from blog entry on WoYoPracMo;

Didn't miss a day even on the road. Very interesting few days. Was able to live an incredible dream in the astral world on July 4th. I woke up from being the lead tabla player during a kirtan. Seriously, I woke up with a sore right palm and arm. I called my ex-husband, skilled in all things creative. Listing his credentials, guitarist, bassist, drummer, singer, poet, song writer, film producer, writer and director. Wait a minute...ok he can dance a little and model too. Did I mention he was vegan. Maybe I made a mistake divorcing him. Anyway, I said, "Ike did you find it unusual that I picked up the 5 piece drum so quickly when you needed a drummer and couldn't kept one?" He said yes it was unusual because he taught me some really difficult stuff. I wonder if yoga unlocks hidden talents beneath our conscious rational mind? Are these secrets revealed in the subconscious and can we lasso the superDuperconscious into bringing these talents into our waking moments. I'm kind of confused. The dream seemed more real than my waking life. Where is that copy of the Animatrix? Watching that film reminds me that I'm not the only one scratching my head.

Enjoy the wonderful illusion!
